The forward simulation SEDPAK developes and tests sequence stratigraphic models, visualizing stratal geometries between sequence boundaries, and substantiating inferences drawn for hydrocarbon entrapment from seismic and well data. Modeling clastic and carbonate sediment geometries responding to changing rates of tectonic movement, eustasy, and sedimentation, it track the sedimentary fill of a basin, its chronostratigraphic framework, and illustrates the relationship between sequences and systems tracts. SEDPAK was developed at the University of South Carolina by the StratMod Group. Integrated Exploration Systems is now SEDPAK's sole owner and distributor.
